Description
Premium Polyurethane Basecoat Paint
Made-to-order 1K (learn more) polyurethane-based basecoat paint. Each batch is meticulously crafted to match your specific color code, guaranteeing a flawless result that blends seamlessly with your car's exterior. All sizes, except the 2 oz touch-up bottles, are made pre-reduced. If desired, you can reduce the basecoat further using Roberlo S-412 Standard or Roberlo S-414 Slow thinners. All sizes, including the 2 oz touch-up bottles, do not require hardener.
Available Sizes
- Touch-Up Bottles (2 oz): Perfect for addressing minor imperfections, each 2 oz bottle provides enough basecoat paint to cover approximately 1-2 square feet, making it ideal for spot repairs on smaller car parts like door edges or trim areas.
- Aerosols (12 oz): Experience the convenience of spray application with our 12 oz aerosol cans, covering approximately 10-12 square feet per can. Whether you're refinishing a hood, trunk, or fender, our aerosols ensure even coverage and professional results. For a more precise application, use SprayMax 3746200 Aerosol Hand-grip.
- 1/2 Pints: Offering greater coverage, our 1/2 pint containers cover approximately 25-30 square feet, making them suitable for medium-sized projects like respraying a bumper or multiple smaller car parts.
- Pints: With enough paint to cover approximately 50-60 square feet, our pint-sized containers are perfect for larger touch-up jobs or small paint projects, such as painting larger car panels or multiple medium-sized car parts.
- Quarts: Providing coverage for approximately 100-120 square feet, our quart-sized containers are ideal for medium-sized paint projects or multiple touch-ups, such as painting multiple car doors or larger car components.
- Gallons: For extensive paint jobs or larger vehicles, our gallon-sized containers offer coverage for approximately 400-480 square feet, ensuring you have more than enough paint to tackle any project with confidence, whether it's a full car respray or multiple vehicles.
How to Use
- Preparation: Clean and prepare the surface thoroughly, ensuring it is free of wax, grease, dirt, rust, and other debris. This step is crucial for both basecoat and tricoat applications to ensure proper adhesion and finish.
- Basecoat Application: Apply the basecoat evenly across the surface, utilizing the appropriate size and method for your project to ensure uniform coverage. Allow the basecoat to dry completely according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Midcoat Application (For Tricoat Applications): Apply the midcoat layer, if your project involves tricoat applications, following the basecoat. This layer often adds special effects, such as pearls or metallic flakes, that enhance the color and depth of the final finish.
- Clear Coat (Sold Separately): Apply a clear coat over the basecoat (and midcoat, if applicable) for added protection, depth, and gloss. Ensure the clear coat is applied evenly and allowed to dry thoroughly.
- Finishing Touches: After the clear coat has fully cured, buff and polish the surface to achieve a flawless, high-gloss finish.
