Description
Premium Polyurethane Automotive Paint
Our custom-mixed 1K (What’s 1K?) polyurethane paint is made to order using your exact color code. Each batch is carefully formulated to deliver an OEM-accurate finish that blends seamlessly with your vehicle’s original paint.
All sizes, except the 2 oz touch-up bottles, come pre-reduced and ready to spray. If desired, you can further reduce the paint with Roberlo S-412 Standard or Roberlo S-414 Slow thinners. Hardener is not required for any size of basecoat, including touch-up bottles.
Single Stage Paint vs. Basecoat Paint
If you see “Single Stage Mix Only” in the product name, you are purchasing single stage paint.
- Single stage paint does not require a clear coat — the gloss is built into the color itself.
- When ordering gallon sizes of single stage paint, it will be shipped as a complete kit that includes the paint, hardener, and reducer for proper application.
- If your order does not say “Single Stage Mix Only”, then it is a basecoat system, which requires a clear coat (sold separately) for gloss, protection, and durability.
Available Sizes & Coverage
- 2 oz Touch-Up Bottles: Great for small chips, scratches, or trim work. Covers about 1–2 sq. ft.
- 12 oz Aerosols: Convenient spray cans that cover 10–12 sq. ft. Ideal for hoods, trunks, or fenders. For improved control, use with a SprayMax 3746200 Aerosol Hand-grip.
- ½ Pints: Covers 25–30 sq. ft., perfect for bumpers or multiple smaller panels.
- Pints: Provides 50–60 sq. ft. of coverage, suited for larger panels or medium projects.
- Quarts: Yields 100–120 sq. ft. of coverage, great for multiple doors or larger parts.
- Gallons: Covers 400–480 sq. ft. Best for full resprays, large vehicles, or multiple projects. If ordering single stage in this size, it will arrive as a full kit (paint + hardener + reducer).
Application Guide
- Preparation: Clean and degrease the surface. Remove wax, dirt, rust, and contaminants for proper adhesion.
- Basecoat (Standard Systems): Spray evenly, allowing correct flash times and full drying between coats.
- Midcoat (Tricoat Colors): If required, apply a midcoat to add depth and special effects (pearls, metallics).
- Clear Coat (Basecoat Systems): Apply a clear coat for gloss, protection, and depth. Not required for single stage paint.
- Finish: Once cured, polish or buff for a smooth, showroom-quality shine.
